Advocating for the rights of the marginalized

As Tooro Action for Human Rights, we believe that every human being should be treated with dignity irrespective of their social status, culture, race, and age. We, therefore, ensure that every person is treated with respect. Tooro Action also ensures that justice prevails among the marginalized groups to ensure self-esteem and hope among them

Skilling the youths

TAVUHURI Uganda targets empowering the youth with practical education to reduce the problem of unemployment in Uganda. This has been done by ensuring practical education through teaching them tailoring, carpentry, and welding, and e by ensuring that every person graduates with a free gadget as starting capital. This has improved their living standards.

Support formal education

This has been especially to the orphans and other vulnerable children who lost their parents or whose parents have been exiled due to political reasons. This has been achieved through paying their fees at schools, providing them with scholastic materials, and buying sanitary pads for the girl children.

Practicing Agriculture

Tooro Action ensures that the community we serve practice extensive modern agriculture and do value addition on their agricultural products. This has been achieved through providing inputs like pineapple suckers and also add value on pineapples by producing wine and also improving people’s vitamin levels. This has ensured improved living standards amongst the marginalized communities

Combating gender based violence

Violence against women and girls is a grave violation of human rights. It’s impact ranges from immediate to long term multiple physical, sexual and mental consequences including death. Tooro Action’s mandate is to mobilize government, civil society and women’s movement to put to amend the vice. We believe the best way to end violence is to prevent it from happening in the first place by stopping it’s roots and structural causes. We educate and work with young boys and girls respective of relationships and gender equality. Our other interventions include policy dialogue, awareness creation, advocacy as well as embracing ICT to monitor, document, report and respond to gender based violence.
